Island Spice - Kansas City

During a business trip to the area, I happened upon this restaurant. I was actually on my way to another place when I spotted the sign. I decided to stop in for dinner, and it ended up being the highlight of my trip. The staff was exceptionally friendly, and the food was amazing! I highly recommend visiting if you're in the area!

My friend suggested we eat here and at first I was a bit worried you order in what looks like an old bank drive thru. I thought we were in the wrong place at first. But the guy at the window was helpful and patient with us as we figured out what we wanted. The food came out quick and it was soooo good, the way the jerk chicken falls right off the bone I’ll be back

The food was excellent! I ordered the jerk chicken platter, which included cabbage, rice and peas, and a corn fritter. The portion size was just right. The chicken was tender and practically falling off the bone. I was really impressed with both the quality of the food and the quick service. The beef patty was also delicious. I’ve found my go-to spot for authentic Jamaican cuisine!

Loved this hidden gem! They offer a drive thru and take out. Wanted a Caribbean vibe! The service was good and the atmosphere give a dive type of vibe. (loved) Our order consisted of Brown Stew Chicken, Fish and 2 Lemonades. The portion of the stew chicken and rice was top tier. The fish portion was sad 3 baby pieces, but flavored. The lemonade was to sweet for me but I added water (perfect).
