Jefferson's - Kansas City

We both ordered wings— I had a 5-piece order, and my husband got 15 pieces, all drums. While I was finishing my salad, which had way too much cheese, my husband started on his wings. By the time I got to mine, he was already on his third. I typically eat wings by using a fork to tear the meat from the bone. When I started on my first wing, I noticed the meat was very pink and appeared undercooked. I opened another wing, and it was the same. I pointed this out to my husband, who then checked his wings, which were also quite pink. We signaled the waitress, and she arranged for another batch. The second batch was cooked better, but by then, we were already quite dissatisfied with the experience. To make matters worse, my husband didn’t receive all drums as he had originally ordered. We didn’t want to escalate the situation further at that point. Our waitress, Hannah, was excellent, and we tipped her because we didn’t want her to suffer for the kitchen’s mistakes. They did remove the charge for the "All Drums" from the bill, as well as the side of tater tots we ordered. The “All Drums” should have been taken off anyway since he didn’t receive them. Overall, once you’re served undercooked chicken at a restaurant, it really discourages you from wanting to return.

Our experience was wonderful. The wait staff were excellent. However, the atmosphere felt more like a neighborhood bar, and since we visited on a holiday weekend, there were quite a few adults enjoying themselves. This didn't affect our family, but we wouldn't suggest bringing kids unless it's during family-friendly hours. The specials were impressive, with a nice variety of options. The wings were, as always, fantastic, and the appetizers were satisfying. I also appreciated the convenient phone charger at the entrance—it’s a great touch for anyone needing to recharge their device.

Amazing experience! You can even exchange dollar bills for complimentary fried pickle appetizers. The wait for food wasn't too long either. They have a great menu with plenty of options for both adults and kids. The restaurant is clean, and the staff is very friendly. Be sure to add this spot to your must-try list!

Excellent oysters and the food the other tables ordered looked great.We'll be back for the oysters which are flown in from Delaware daily.

We enjoyed a lunch of wings and fried mushrooms. The wings and the choice of sauces were very good. We requested all flats, but apparently they weren't able to do that. However the dummies were very meaty and it wasn't too hard to cut the meat off the bone with a knife.The fried mushrooms were good with cups of ranch blue cheese dipping sauce.Our server was very quick attentive and cheerful.We've liked coming to Jefferson's in North Kansas City for several years now. It's good to see business picking back up since Covid is down.
