This establishment is legendary and the service from Ben was excellent, yet again! You can feel the culture surround you waking in the door and the rich history in the architecture. A must stop when you are in town!
Ate there for brunch with the kids for our 25th anniversary. Got seated quickly, but had to move due to the table next to us using extremely foul language. They moved us promptly and we were able to enjoyed the buffet in peace. The service was great and it seemed like everyone one of the staff apologized because of the situation. We will be back. It wasn’t cheap so if you are on a budget be mindful of that. We can’t go back often, but liked the experience so we will try.Kid-friendliness: Staff was excellent for the kids and for us.
I came to KC to go museum hopping for my birthday. We stopped at the Union Station to see the Mayan Exhibit and decided to stop at Harvey’s for a bite to eat. We were greeted immediately and the host was super nice. The restaurant is very clean and had good vibes. Our server Helena was super wonderful. We never had a glass empty on the table and she was very attentive to our needs. The Manager came to make sure we were enjoying our meals and we were. He was friendly and I felt he genuinely cared about our experience. He was also an alumni of Washburn University. On top of all of this the food was good, my chicken was tender on the inside and crispy on the out, and the waffles met all expectations. Thank you for providing a great birthday lunch. I’ll have to come back again.
We went there for breakfast before heading to science city. First off we got there about 15 minutes after open and they were not prepared for guests yet. We were seated and had our drink order taken. While waiting for drinks we witnessed a staff member eating while other people were being seated. After our order was taken, it took about 15 minutes for us to get our food. Let me rephrase that it took 15 minutes for my mom and daughter to get their food. I had to wait another 7 minutes for my food. My daughter got biscuits and gravy and her biscuits were hard and crunchy, I got the chicken and waffles and my chicken had no flavor at all, and my mom got the chamber light which was so so. I have to say, this was the worst experience we have had here out of the number of times we have been.
