This restaurant is average for vegans, but a paradise for vegetarians. The food I tried was good, but there were limited options for vegans and unnecessary use of dairy products in dishes like paella. They didn't have vegan sushi, but the staff kindly made me a special dish with sprouts and vegetables, although it lacked rice. The vegan dessert options included red bean-filled mochi, coffee jelly, and fruit, which were tasty but lacked chocolate options. Due to the price ($15) and limited vegan choices, I won't be returning. I suggest visiting a regular veggie buffet or buying fruit for dessert elsewhere if you're vegan. However, this restaurant could be a good option for vegetarians or those who prefer less oily food. Overall, ideal for vegetarians or those with oily food preferences, but not recommended for vegans.
The dinner buffet at this restaurant typically offers mostly vegetarian options with a few limited choices for vegans. It is noted that many dishes can be easily modified to be vegan. The food categories are well labeled. The price for two people is nearly 900 Taiwanese dollars. The atmosphere is lovely and the service is good. Additionally, it was mentioned that the staff confirmed the availability of a breakfast buffet, but informed that it included meat.
There in December 2019. All vegetarian breakfast options had cheese or egg. I landed on the road to 7-Eleven to get bananas and soy milk as my breakfast. My rating of 2 stars is therefore not applicable when there are lunch or dinner options (I am not sure about it).
For more information on vegan options in Kaohsiung, check out this guide: [hidden link]. Double Veggie Buffet is a vegetarian buffet located in Kaohsiung. While the lunch and dinner options are vegetarian, the breakfast buffet unfortunately serves meat. In the morning, only 20-30% of the dishes are vegan. Most dishes are clearly labeled as vegan, vegetarian, or containing meat, but some sauces and toppings may not be marked properly. The staff confirmed that some sauces are not vegan, so it's safer to avoid them. The lunch and dinner buffet offers a variety of dishes from different countries, with around 25-30 vegan options. However, compared to Fruitful Food Buffet, the vegan selection is not as extensive. Some areas for improvement include only one out of six salads being vegan, and none of the pizzas or ice cream being vegan. Overall, it's a good option for vegans in the area and worth a try.
