We were seated in the really pretty outdoor seating area, and I would say this is a great spot for romantic dinner dates.
In short, the food is flavorful but expensive. The service was slow with minimal attention from staff. Read on for more details.. Our server persuaded us to order the eggplant mozzarella stick appetizer by reminding us that the pizzas in particular take a while to cook and we should anticipate a long wait. The appetizer had good textures flavor, but for the price, we were expecting more than 4 mozzarella sticks The shrimp linguine was creamy, with a nice lemony flavor visually pleasing presentation. The portion size seemed small for the price. The mad garlic pizza was pretty good.. I would have liked the option to add some black pepper or red pepper flakes over top just to enhance the pizza. However, after our food arrived, our server did not return to our table for over 20 minutes, by then, the pizza was cold. This kind of characterized our experience- lack of attention from the servers, though they were friendly when explaining the menu options did warn us that the entrees take time to prepare.
**Appetizers:** The Chopped Salad was beautifully presented and nicely dressed, though it wasn't really to my personal taste since I'm not a big fan of salads. However, my family really enjoyed it. The Caesar Salad looked standard and was just a bit overdressed, but it featured unique croutons and actual pieces of anchovy as a garnish—something I had never seen in a Caesar Salad before! Overall, it was good, albeit a bit peppery. The Fritto Misto was a hit at our table; everyone really enjoyed this dish. The marinara sauce that accompanied it was a little bland on its own, but paired well with the fried items. **Mains:** I tried the lunch special, which was the Pappardelle Bolognese. The ragu was nice, though it could have used a bit more depth, but it was a good effort compared to what I’ve had in Italy. We also shared the Mad Garlic Pizza, which had a satisfying crust and an abundance of garlic. Unfortunately, I found that the dish smelled better than it tasted. As a big garlic fan, I was looking forward to it, but it was a bit of a letdown. However, the cooking of all the pizza ingredients was spot on. It was quite rich and on the heavier side, so I’d recommend sharing it if you order this! **Desserts:** The tiramisu was rustic in appearance but absolutely delicious—a perfect light finish to the meal. We also ordered the Olive Oil Gelato because we enjoy trying unique flavors.
This is the best food I've had on the island so far! The bone marrow and caviar were absolutely outstanding, but everything was delicious, including the cheese pizza that isn't pictured. The pizza crust was perfectly crispy and flavorful! And I must mention that the service was a close second in making this experience unforgettable!
**Pricing**: Given the quality and quantity of food we received, I found the prices to be very reasonable. I've paid the same at other places that offered much lower food quality. **Quality**: The ingredients were excellent and fresh. **Service**: The staff were all incredibly attentive and professional, which truly makes a difference. The clam pasta was fantastic, and I can't wait to return and try more dishes!
