I am often intimidated by indian food as I don't like anything spicy. The lamb korma I had was genuinely mild and I really enjoyed it. Kashmiri rice was really nice and went well with it. I would definitely recommend them.
We phoned ahead to place our order as it was going to be 830pm by the time we arrived on Sunday just gone (they stated kitchen closes at 9pm so we wanted to give them plenty time) we arrived on time to find our food boxed up to takeaway, we paid and thought ok we will eat out but they couldn't find any takeaway cutlery so we said we will eat in as we had driven over an hour to get there. The restaurant was empty. They sat us down gave us water then told us that it'll cost an extra $25 to dine in (after already paying $48 for three dishes in small takeaway container sizes) we ended getting our food reboxed up and left absolutely appalled. Never have we ever experienced such rudeness and to pay extra to dine in at the cost of what we already paid. Wish we could say the food made up for the terrible service but unfortunately the butter chicken sauce was runny and the biryani was super hot we couldnt eat it.
Customer Service was great when taking my take away order. but thats where it stopped. I was the only person in the shop and the only order made whilst i was in the shop. I took my meal home and found the sauce of my butter chicken to be of a similar consistency to water. While the 'soup ' tasted good. Unfortunately the severe lack of chicken made it seem poor in comparison. It also appeared that the chicken was simply cooked in a pan, then thrown in the container with the sauce and served as the sauce had not penetrated the chicken in the slightest. The rice and naan that was ordered was great however when you order indian your not particularly concerned about the naan and rice. its all about the main serving. Im a long time Chutney Mary 's fan, unfortunately tonight it was closed, i think next time i will give Indian a miss and visit Mcdonalds or Hungry Jacks instead.
The customer service is fantastic, I requested a Vegetarian Rogan Josh, it's not even on their menu and they made it or me, can't beat that! The portions are rather small when you dine in but I like this place and our take away has always been lovely, fresh and hot when delivered. This place and Spice on the Ocean are my preferred Indian restaurants in the area.
Every curry has a different taste and look, just like a curry house should be like, restaurant should bring the prices down a bit I agree, but the take away prices and food is great. You can tell these are the real deal and not the soupy attempt others try and make money on!
