The place was very clean, nicely decorated and the bathrooms were clean. This is more on the traditional side than tex-mex. If you're looking for this, I recommend El Jarrito.
We went to Christmas Eve dinner and they were pretty busy, but there was no waiting to get in place. You get chips and three different types of salsa while you wait what tasted very well. They offer regular tex mex like tamales, tacos and fajitas. I went with one of the home specialties that bacon packed meat filled jalapenos. It was fantastic that I would definitely order it again. They want to go hungry because the portions are quite large. There was a little gap between the order and the receipt of the order, but as most places now they seemed short employees.
Great place to eat good Mexican food. The service was very good, food was also great. You have life music on weekends, which is very beautiful. Just a little too loud, but songs were nice. You have an externally sitting option that is good when you have children. Had a margarita on the rocks and it wasn't that good. Apparently frozen margaritas are much better, just FYI.
El Jarrito has been one of my favorite Mexican restaurants in the Katy region for years. We went to her busiest day of the year, Cinco de Mayo. The place was packed and despite a small waiting to be delivered to our order to the table, everything was great. As I said, it was busy, I don't care about waiting. Our server was great and made sure that we have done all our other needs.
