Island Fin Poke Company Katy

I really enjoy this restaurant. I'm not sure why it's not more crowded. The menu has fantastic food options, particularly the poke which I highly recommend.

Probably the worst poke I’ve ever had. Fish is not fresh. Sauce is weird. Rice was hard and old. I threw it away after a couple bites.

I've been wanting to try this restaurant for a while and I'm glad I finally did. While this wasn't my favorite poke bowl, here's is what I enjoyed about the experience. The service was good. The employees that were working were friendly and helpful and helping me make decisions. You get generous helpings of enough protein and toppings (was told if I wanted more toppings to just let them know). The ingredients seemed fresh. I liked the Island fin fire sauce. It was a nice blend of sweet and spicy. I wish the sauce stuck to my protein and toppings. When the employee put the sauce on instead of actually mixing it, they just swirled it around the bowl and then poured it over my base. All of the sauce ended up at the bottom of my bowl. I also topped it all off with the ono ono sauce which was ok (this sauce stuck on top as the texture was thicker/sticky). Maybe I just didn't pick the best blend of ingredients. Again the bowl itself was of healthy portions and the staff was kind. Give them a try if you are in the area.

Flavor was good, I always get my poke with green salad base, based on prices and size. It was skimpy on salad and side for avocado being extra should have been more than a little scoop. Using a scoop type measurement seems amateur find something comparable that doesn’t seem so ridged. Biggest suggest when you open a competitive restaurant go to every one of your competitors try the food, check portion, price and then open your doors. tastes good but I left 18.00 later for one person with water and was still hungry. I leave your competitors full. Thank you wonderful service.

Forgot to take pictures of our bowls but we got it Togo for lunch. My fav sauces was spicy mayo. I got shrimp in my bowl and it was looking white and black. It tasted sour. Pretty sure it’s not fresh maybe expired! Service was nice.
