If you're looking for a dining experience that combines stunning scenery and mouth-watering food, look no further than the beautiful restaurant I recently visited. From the moment I arrived, I was struck by the breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape, which provided a stunning backdrop to the elegant and tastefully decorated interior. However, it wasn't just the scenery that made this restaurant so special. The food was simply outstanding, with a menu that offered a tantalizing range of options to suit all tastes. Whether you're in the mood for a hearty meat dish, a delicate seafood plate, or a vegetarian option bursting with flavor, you're sure to find something that will satisfy your cravings. The dishes I ordered included Beef Bourguignon, Seafood Penne Alfredo, Herb Roast Chicken and Cheese Board. Seafood Penne Alfredo and Cheese Board are definitely recommended. Particularly, Cheese Board tastes even better with the tea I ordered, such as the Ginger beer and London Fog.Each dish was expertly prepared and presented with care, making for a truly indulgent and unforgettable culinary experience. And with a wine list that featured some of the best local and international vintages, there was no shortage of delicious beverages to accompany the meal. The service was also top-notch, with attentive and knowledgeable staff who went out of their way to ensure that every guest felt welcome and well taken care of. From start to finish, my experience at this restaurant was nothing short of exceptional. In short, if you're looking for a restaurant that offers a perfect combination of stunning scenery, delicious food, and impeccable service, I highly recommend giving this place a try. You won't be disappointed!Parking: Plenty of parking is available for the winery and the restaurant.
My wife had the Bouillabaisse, which was not bad, but I had the same dish down the road at Basil and Mint which was far better. I had the chef's special, which should embarrass any chef. The roast potatoes were so dry, I was stealing broth from my wife's Bouillabaisse to pour over them. Not sure what was supposed to be special about the way they prepared the chicken. Wines are way overpriced. We did both love the Chocolate sachertorte for dessert.
I have no problem with healthy, organic food. I keep healthy in part because of my good eating decisions. I cook in ways to enhance taste. The Bistro should adopt the same philosophy. My prawns and mussels were bland, as was my wife's squash mac and cheese. Very lazy effort on a very limited lunch menu. There's no excuse to charge exorbitant prices for low-quality entrees. Lake Tai could teach the kitchen many lessons. My suggestion is to steer clear of this place until management makes extensive changes. Because what they're doing now isn't working.
Ordered steak, which came out before appetizers. It was really small and just ok, almost cold. When vegan ‘carpaccio’ appetizer finally came out it was literally A beat cut up on a plate, not even in a creative way for $20 so we sent it back. This is about 45 mins in and food had come out for 2 out of 5 people. We talked to one girl manager who was rude and a guy manager who was nice but seemed overwhelmed and grumpy. I still hadn’t gotten my drink (some kind of pop) and the manager told me he would make sure it came. It didn’t. I asked a server, twice, then the drink finally came as I was finishing my meal about an hour in. I had been done my meal for a while, from what I remember about an hour and a half in when the person beside me got their meal. The managers were nice enough to discount us for this mishap, but to me it didn’t make up for the night and a total brutal experience overall and wasn’t enough to make me want to ever go back.
To be honest, this place offers stunning views, but it falls short in terms of experienced staff and the quality of its wine and menu choices. Tourists may continue to flock here due to their lack of awareness, but I doubt that locals will return more than once. The new menu rolled out today and unfortunately misses the mark in several aspects. Charging $30 for a simple green salad? Really? Additionally, what’s advertised on their website doesn’t match what’s offered in-house, such as the happy hour times. Lastly, there aren’t many shareable options available if you're not a fan of faux-meat dishes. I hope they address these issues soon, but honestly, there are better, less touristy wineries to explore in Kelowna.
