Komatsu Japanese Market - Kelowna

We were trying to go out for dinner to a BBQ place that I've written about before and wanted to try again But it's not open for dinner now, so we went across the parking lot to the Japanese market that said it served food. When you open the door there is maybe a dozen tables inside with one wall that has items for sale(the market items). You go up to the counter to order and then they bring it out to you. We ordered a few items and were pleasantly surprised at the beautifully arranged rolls and the care that was taken with all ingredients to arrange them to be pleasing to the eyes. I think it goes without saying that we were extra ordinarily pleased with our meal and the price was quite reasonable as well. We also bought a couple of pops from the market part and they had glass ball bearings in the opening, everyone needs to try this. Loved it!

Stopped in at 430 on a Friday and had the #3 combo for 15 dollars. Extremely filling for one person, I barely got through it. I was the only person there and it took just over ten minutes to get it plated. A bit on the slow side but it was worth it. It was excellent. I don't eat sushi all the time but this is one of the best plates I have had in Kelowna right beside the 911 rolls at Yama. It was a nice surprise and it was very fresh. The location is neat and clean and seats about 16. Open till about 530 on the weekdays and I won't hesitate to return.

I love stopping in at Komatsu for a quick, healthy bite that's inexpensive! The brown rice sushi option is awesome and I love their spring rolls!!

If you like sushi check this place out! Very good selection of Japanese food and store products. Very friendly and helpful staff. Everything is fresh and well made. They gave me some recommendations for my dinner to go while travelling and it all worked out great! Even got some samples! Limited seating area but cozy and clean. Would definitely recommend and will be going back soon. Price is very reasonable and lots of people were in and out for takeout.

A faviourite place to grab a quick lunch. Friendly family run place with good selection of sushi and curry bowls. Only downer is the heavy use of disposable and styrofoam containers that aren't/can't b recycled.
