The soup came in a casserole and was served with white and brown bread slices. Portions were very generous. Everything was very delicious and the prices were very reasonable. It was worth to a trip. We will go there again.
Pumpkin Feast. Last weekend was a pumpkin inspired fest. For a few days including the Friday of my visit there were menu items and sweets with a pumpkin ingredient. Soup and sandwich were great as usual with a little twist.<br/ The little pumpkin cake was a special takeaway item.<br/ <br/ I just received a note about their anniversary tasting on Sunday Oct 21,2012.<br/ I will try to include it though it maybe too lengthy.<br/ 'This is a great week of celebration here at The Crusty Baker. The food is fantastic!. The crepes are scrumptious and the atmosphere is charming, making it a wonderful combination. You will not be disappointed if you pay a visit!
A Hearty Meal!. We drove in from Ottawa to have lunch at this restaurant on the advice of a colleague who lives in Kemptville.<br/ We were not disappointed the food was excellent!<br/ <br/ I had the Mushroom Cheese crepe with the soup of the day. The soup was a 'Leek Baby Spinach, Vegetable and Pork Concoction ' and for me was the height of the meal. The soup alone is worth the 30 minute trip from Kanata.<br/ <br/ My sweetie loved the loose leaf house chai tea and found her Onion Cheese crepe quite good and more than she could eat.<br/ <br/ The price for the meal was very good and we bought a baguette when we left.<br/ <br/ We will return to this quaint little restaurant.<br/ <br/ After writing the above note we checked out the deserts while talking with the owner, Jamie, and we sat backdown and had a dense apple cake, 2 peanut butter chocolate chip cookies and some coffee. It was hard to leave.<br/ <br/ Maybe we 'll return next Sunday. They have live music easy afternoons on Sundays.
We always enjoy the fresh bread at this restaurant. The kids especially love the large cookies. The staff is always friendly and welcoming. We are thrilled to see that they are now offering more vegan options. The lentil soup is incredibly tasty!
