Tom Crean - Kenmare

A great dinner with family and friends. I honestly do not agree with some previous bad feedback on this restaurant. Let me say that we’re italian and we know a little about food and restaurants…and our experience was great. Great location, service and food!

If you want poor servicce please go to this restaurant. It was recommended by one of the museum staff in Kerry. Thought it was worth a try. What a big mistake..... Got terrible service there and it would appear that chef is in charge and does not need customers. Even when I went in I noticed all the customers in a gloom form and the restuarant needs updating and cleaning. While a minimal look is good this restaurant falls below that standard. I certainly do not want a reply from the management of this restaurant but to take this review a useful criticism going forward.

My vegetarian son and I were thrilled to finally find tofu on our trip! We tried the tofu salad with some sides and had a satisfying meal that provided much-needed protein. The restaurant had a peaceful atmosphere with comfy tables and welcoming staff. I would definitely recommend it!

We were here on a busy Saturday evening in June. The atmosphere is just great and the staff could not be more helpful and friendly. We chose starters and fish dishes all excellent and shared a delicious pudding. The wine was also first rate (Merlot) as was the pint of Tom Crean's IPA I think it's brewed on the premises. All in all one of the highlights of our trip to Kerry a really lovely evening.

Tom Crean‘s was, under the previous management, a regular for us in Kenmare. Last week we invited friends to evening dinner based on our previous experience of the quality of food and service there. We were seriously disappointed. It is still a comfortable restaurant to sit in. The service is still great. But the food . . . It has been reduced to poor bar food quality with none of the distinguishing features that had made this restaurant worth eating in in the past. I know that the kitchen is capable of better, both in terms of menu and quality. Let’s hope that they start to produce this in future.
