Food is good when made fresh. Love their tortas and tacos. Unfortunately, when they reheat the food, it's not as good.
I found this cash only Mexican Taqueria and Panaderia by accident while out on a drive on my day off. What a delightful surprise. The exterior looks like an old barn; the rough wood has been festively painted in stripes the color of the flag of Mexico. Inside, I felt like I had stepped across the border--which I have done many times in my life, so the inviting smells and rustic decor warmed my heart immediately. I was greeted by an elderly abuela in Spanish. I wanted a breakfast burrito which was not on the menu, but I told her what I wanted and she gave me a big smile and told me it was no problem. A few minutes later I had a crispy tender delicious burrito steaming hot on my plate with fresh salsa. It was simple and simply delicious. I loved it and will eat here again. Note, I spoke solely in Spanish, but you can probably get what you want with English also.
I had super high hopes for their famous 'big tortas ' but they were super stingy with their avocados, tomatoes, and beans, there was literally nothing on it but meat, the bread wasn 't toasted and was thin! I also ordered a chorizo torta but found bits of carne asada, the only good thing about this torta was the freshly chopped lettuce... definitely not worth $6.50
The place looks a bit outdated, but the food is very delicious. The attention of the staff was very nice and attentive. Let me tell you what I tried atole (an oatmeal drink) with chocolate, delicious. Don Raúl was very helpful, a very good person. The place looks a bit outdated, but the food is very delicious.
