The service was very good and our dinner in time and shape. I had the fish and chips, which was very tasty. We could talk to some of the other local comens, as well as the owners. At a reasonable price. A great local pub. I'd be back again.
It's a neighborhood pub, very simple, but the inside had dinners were pretty good. It is listed as a Carvery Roast, and not just a fish and chips. They don't have time or have come back on a Sunday when they have a roast, meat and pork, which sounded interesting.
A lovely spot in Notting Hill. The restaurant is good with a variety of traditional English dishes. Prices are reasonable.
Is it a pub? A bar? A restaurant? I used it as in all three. Great local and one of the last to survive the plague of 'change of use', requests. Good beers, better than normal menu and a good list of wines. There are additional seats in the secondary media that is larger than it seems at first. It also has outdoor seats. Food is essentially pub food, the quality of the ingredients is high and the portions are generous. My favorites are the sausage lidgates with mashed potatoes, meat and fries and if the course fish and fries. The atmosphere is pleasant as well as the staff and you will find an eclectic crowd here. He will often enter a drink only for a meal, as it is really very comfortable and welcoming thanks to Marc and his staff.
I recently found this hidden gem just around the corner from my house. It's a cozy local spot with delicious hearty winter meals in a charming and relaxed setting. Can't wait to come back and try more dishes!
