I went to Beachfront Cafe for dinner in Kep, where vegan options were limited. The mango margarita with chilli salt caught my attention right away. While the Khmer menu had many vegetarian/vegan choices, I was craving a burrito. After some pointing and nodding, I ordered a meatless and cheeseless fat burrito with two salsa options and guacamole on the side. I also ordered a side of Khmer stir fried veggies. The meal was satisfying and the food was delicious. Plus, the margarita was awesome!
The tacos do not have a vegetarian option to replace the meat. There is no tofu, just vegetable dishes that can be found in any restaurant. The fruit juices have no taste. And the staff speaks very little English, making it difficult to ask questions about the dishes.
The shakes are good and really affordable at 4000 kr, the staff is also very nice and you can relax in the hammocks.
After reviewing the menu, we found that the vegetarian options were simple and not very appealing. The staff was unfriendly, making us feel unwelcome, so we ultimately decided to leave. Luckily, our hotel offers a good selection of vegetarian dishes.
