The food was decent. The restaurant had recently been refurbished and had a good amount of customers, creating a nice atmosphere.
I usually have a good idea of what to expect when visiting this chain of pubs, but unfortunately, despite its great location and venue, it didn't quite meet my usual standards. It wasn't overly busy on a Sunday afternoon, but the service at the bar was much slower than it should have been. Many of the staff seemed preoccupied with other tasks instead of serving the growing number of customers. The same was true for table cleaning, as there were plenty of empty glasses and dirty tables in the area near the bar. However, once past that initial hurdle, the rest of the experience was satisfactory. The food was served quickly, presented well, and hot. The serving staff were friendly and engaging, and there was a good atmosphere in the pub. I would be willing to return for a casual drink or meal, but with some extra attention to service, it could be a standout pub in the area.
I visited this restaurant today because of the limited selection of guest ales in Wellingborough. They had the same two ales as they did 24 hours ago. I tried two of the three guest ales and found them to be of good quality, and the service was also good. Note that they are in the process of replacing all the carpets (half of the downstairs area has already been done) and they are also recovering the stools and chairs.
This was the first time we visited this particular Wetherspoons , and it won't be the last. The staff were pleasant and helpful especially Danny and Aimee. We had an afternoon deal of fish and chips with a soft drink, very reasonable. All in all a good place to go.
I have no idea what this used to be but it makes for a very interesting pub. On two levels, really nice layout but could be cleaner. The bar staff were OK and obviously tge prices are cheap. However, a real ale like Abbott must be kept properly and this wasn't. Cheap but poor. One meal was OK the other poor. Very soggy toast which must have been prepared some time earlier, eggs not done well (to be fair, not always easy in a large place) and the bacon was black. Not just tge edges which would be fine but 70% of it. Not good enough and as there are quite a few similar comments it's something management needs to understand (like the poor beer). I think this could be a very good Spoons but needs some work.
