Food was good and fresh. She crab bisque was exceptional. So was the chocolate crème brûlée. Great presentation. Nice place with good atmosphere. From an allergy standpoint, limited options. Egg, gluten, and dairy in almost all offerings without substitutes available. Definitely limits the experience for many dishes. Dietary restrictions: Not many options for those with restrictions.
Visiting Key West for a week earlier this month, we wanted a nice dinner close to our hotel on the east end of the island new town , where the choices are limited because most of the restaurants are in the downtown area on the western end old town . Numerous venues came up on a Yelp search, most of which we dismissed because they were either chain-type fastfood or had some negative factors. Matt 's was down the list, possibly because it 's on Stock Island, not the main Key West island. We decided to give it a chance. It 's in the Perry Hotel Marina. It was a good choice. Even though it was a Friday evening, the dining room was nearly empty. Whatever the reason, it wasn 't food or service. My wife tried the she crab soup and said it was very good, while I had the tuna tartare appetizer--excellent. For entree I chose the yellow snapper grits, and it was really good. My wife wanted something not on the menu, shrimp grits. She described what she wanted to our server, who asked the chef whether he could do it, and he was game. It came and she pronounced it very good, thoroughly enjoying it. There was enough for her to take some leftover with us. I had some a couple of nights later at our hotel our suite had a full kitchen , and she was right. I can recommend Matt 's Stock Island Kitchen unreservedly. Prices are reasonable.

Here on Sunday for her brunch, who was absolutely delicious. had a mushroom frittata and eier benedict, which were very tasty, with a few mimoses.
My friend lived in the hotel and suggested that this was still for dinner. we were last minute and that were the few places that had a reasonable time.
