Pizzeria San Remo - Kiel

I was invited there for a Birthday party and it was a very nice choice! We were around 15 people and there was a possibility to seat at one big table (with prior reservation, of course). Service was very nice and friendly, pizza was good. Good value for money and big company.

I remember trying this restaurant once before and not being that disappointed. Unfortunately this time we just popped in to watch the italian world cup match and decided to just order an Aperol Spritz and some Antipasti della Casa, 1 x vegetarian, 1 x meat. This should be what really represents your restaurant, 'della casa', right? Filled omelette rolls, tasteless boiled carrots and Jalapeno peppers do not represent an italian restaurant very well. The difference between the vegetarian and the non-vegetarian option was 1-2 slices of Parma ham. There was of course some more recognizable italian food on the plates, but all together very disappointing. The pizzas looked fine. The atmosphere was very quiet despite the football on the big screen, meaning I was probably the only italian in there. The Aperol Spritz was excellent and the Limoncello at the end was good quality and served ice cold, like it should be. Go there for pizza and drinks.

Of October dinner The spaghetti they served me was completely soaked in sauce, very soggy and soft. This all indicated clearly that it had been frozen. The taste was nothing like a bolognese should taste like, honestly quite horrible. My girlfriend ordered a...lasagne that was also lacking a decent taste, even with the cheese on top. It had almost no meat in between its many layers. Needless to say neither of us finished our dishes, not even close. Very disappointing for an Italian restaurant in the heart of Kiel.

Very good pasta and excellent service. I tried the Pasta Carbonara and it was very tasty. Next time I will have a pizza.
