Sushi Paradise - Kīhei

Amazing food and service! a reservation is in advance (restaurant is small,) and preorders the items we wanted. my friend is Japanese and he was very impressed. my favorites here were the beet/scallop bowl, spicy salmon roll, chawanmushiiii? and Lilikoi ice. will definitely be the next time I am in maui!

Definitive is a hidden gem for sushi, run by a husband and wife team who have been operating this authentic Japanese restaurant for 27 years. Originally from Japan, they came to Hawaii in search of Japanese cuisine on Maui. They focus on creating unique and delicious rolls, as well as offering tempura and udon. The small team of sushi chefs ensures that each bite is full of flavor and texture. The tempura is perfectly crispy and the service is friendly, with the servers even recommending other local restaurants to support. We will definitely be returning to try the recommended restaurants and continue supporting these local businesses that deserve all the recognition they can get!

It is not always easy to get a reservation and they need something geduld, but the result is more than worth it! we always make a point to eat here when we visit and eat here twice during our last visit in the mai. fresh, fresh, fresh!

We were so excited to try this place. in the first night we tried, we were told we need pre-bookings that include letting them know what we want to eat before the time. we called the next day and after we were hanged several times, we finally got a reservation and told them what we wanted to eat. we were early when we arrived as the only reservation for us was at 20:30. even if the restaurant was empty, except a party they wouldn't sit us. we went and 30 minutes later they said they could sit down. when we arrived, we had to show our vaccination cards and pass to go in. after that we tried to enter, but we said we also need to put masks, although the restaurant was empty and our table was a few meters away. we have asked if it is obligatory to wear a mask, and the hostes told us that if we do not want to pursue their policy, we can go free. it killed our excitement so we left and had a great night at another place. we didn't expect the hostess to be so rude. they should treat their customers better.

We had dinner reservations for a birthday dinner. Presentation was excellent, flavors fills your mouth... just delicious.
