Timbers - King's Lynn and West Norfolk

Went as a party of 7 for Sunday lunch. All food was brought to the table in a steel pan, potatoes, veg, meat and Yorkshire puddings all stacked up for us to help ourselves. We asked if a second pan was coming as there didn’t appear to be enough for our party and the server responded that there was. After waiting for it to arrive we subsequently found out from a second server that she was wrong and this was all of the food.There was one slice of meat each, not enough veg and a jug of gravy which only served 3. We had to go and ask for more gravy which was quickly brought. Nobody came to ask about dessert so again we had to ask. Fruit crumble was cold, mentioned to the server who’s response was ‘I’ll look into it’. All such a shame as the food was tasty but a let down from previous visits and poor value.

The food at this restaurant is superb, but the atmosphere feels sterile with white walls, tables, chairs, and even Christmas trees. It gave off a hospital-like vibe that made me feel chilly despite the place being warm.

The Farmhouse, now known as such, has been renovated and improved. The decor is lighter, brighter, and inviting. We hosted a private event in the loft room, which has its own bar and is comfortable. The food was excellent, with savory dishes and amazing cakes. The huge scones with clotted cream and jam were a hit, as was the incredible frangipane tart. Everything was homemade and well done by the chef. The staff were friendly and accommodating. We will definitely return.

The restaurant provided a good welcome and quick service, but unfortunately, the positive experience ended there. Despite being the only customers waiting, the food took a long time to arrive. The order was mixed up, with the regular Mac n Cheese being mistaken for the vegan option. This mistake was not realized until there was no chicken or bacon in the dish. Additionally, the chips served with the delicious gammon steak were undercooked on the inside and only golden on the outer surface. Overall, it was a disappointing dining experience, although the staff appeared to be friendly.

Do not go here unless you want to be spoken too by a young lady with no mannered and no customer service
