The Heron - King's Lynn

Booked a table here for my good ladies birthday. We were both very impressed. Food was clearly home cooked it was excellent. Staff were very friendly efficient. Thank you!

The Heron, alongside the River Great Ouse, is a delightful pub/restaurant. Although it retains the character of a much older establishment, it has been tastefully renovated making it welcoming and comfortable. The menu has many tempting starters, mains and deserts, and from the illustrations, the chef certainly understands the importance of presentation. As we were not looking for a full meal, my wife and I skipped the starters and went for fish and chips. Two portions available, my wife chose the smaller whilst I selected the larger. Service was warm and friendly and there was nothing wrong with the presentation or the proportions just as well I enjoy fish! Definitely a place that we will go out of our way for lunch or dinner at sometime in the future. This time with the intention of exploring more of the menu.

This is a lovely pub, very friendly and in a great location on the river. We had a roast which was spot on, made to feel very welcome and the staff were very attentive. Won't hesitate to go back

I had dinner here last night with two friends and we were all so impressed!!!! The meal was fantastic; I had the ribeye and it was absolutely delicious and my friend had the most enormous, tasty homemade steak and ale pie. We were blown away by the portion sizes and overall quality of the food. A wonderful, relaxed and cosy setting with plenty of atmosphere. This was our first visit to The Heron but we will be back whenever we visit friends in the area. It is very clear to see how passionate Tracey is about her business; we had such amazingly friendly, attentive service. I wouldn't hesitate to return and next time I would definitely consider staying over in the B&B accommodation. If you are looking for a lovely local or a beautiful stop off on your trip, I couldn't recommend this place enough! You're doing a great job, Tracey, wishing you every success
