Mama's House Buffet - Kingsport

Just a few months ago pulled from Washington State to Bloomingdale. Always past this picturesque place, but never stopped until today. My fiancée and a friend. We were pleasantly surprised. Although it did not have a very large buffet, the food was excellent, finally some home large south kitchen. The staff was very friendly and accommodating and made you welcome. Genuine also not over the top fake friendly. This is the best restaurant I've visited for years. Nothing real imagination, but good 5 stars. From today our new favorite restaurant. I look forward to the next time!!!!

We went to a good friend and her church that the mother wanted to eat for Mother's Day. It was good to eat, nice place to go to dinner. (May /12/2018)

We only moved to Kingsport two weeks ago, and this is already our second visit. If you like southern style buffets, then look no further for the best one in Kingsport! The quality of Mama 's House blows Golden Corral out of the water, and the people just make it feel like home. (I 'm from South Carolina, and it 's hard to find good, southern, homestyle food). They have delicious fried chicken, fried fish (tonight was flounder, catfish, and Pollock, as well as fried clam strips and popcorn shrimp I think it was a special seafood night), hamburger steak, sometimes pulled pork BBQ (they had it out last time we visited, about a week ago, and it was great) *I believe every night is something different, but the staples, like fried chicken, seem to always be available*. More stuff that appears to usually be around is creamy mac and cheese, french fries, mashed potatoes/gravy, corn on the cob, several different veggies, chedder biscuits, home made desserts, and even a salad bar! I swear I leave this place 5 lbs. heavier because I just can 't stop when I 'm here. The folks in this place are not only welcoming, but will go above and beyond to ensure you have a pleasant dinner, and they are always cleaning up! There is never something that makes me go ew ... Which is more than I can say for most buffets! This is casual, low key Southern dining at it 's finest. Come in your overalls and work boots, or come in your Sunday best. Either way, you 're going to fit in.
