Always raved about the place, but after today I definately won't be back. The prices are extortionate.. I mean seriously £5 for the smallest piece of fish that had been sat there for god knows how long.. you'd think you'd get a decent sized portion at least for the price your paying. Gosh we used to get a fish and patty special for less then three quid.. no idea what's happened to the once amazing chippy but its not worth the paper it's wrapped in!
This restaurant wasn't for us. The grease soaked through the wrappers, making it too greasy to enjoy. We wouldn't recommend it, as the portions were very small, especially when not ordering specials. Additionally, we never received the peas. In my opinion, it smelled like old fat.
Working in Tesco all day on a promotion. No hot drink or food facility in store. Thought I would pop out to find a burger van. going down Londesborough st I found the chip shop open and no queue. ordered a large haddock. waited on the pavement in the sunshine, tell called to me to tell it had been cooked. I found the batter tasteless and soaked in oil and uncooked inside. The peas had a good texture and were flavoursome
I had fish and chips with a delicious and fruity curry sauce at Hull City for the same price as a burger. The quality was decent and the price was very affordable. I would recommend it.
I went to this fish and chip shop as a visitor from out of town near the Kcom Stadium. I ordered haddock and chips, and it was the most affordable fish and chips I have ever had. The quality of both the haddock and chips was top-notch, and the staff was very friendly. I would definitely return if I find myself in Hull again.
