My oat latte coffee and vegan breakfast were lovely and I bought cakes to take home for the family. The young man with glasses is a credit to the cafe. Making an effort to advise us of all the vegan options available when he saw our vegan runner vests and being super friendly. Thanks for offering such delicious vegan food at very reasonable prices. The tofu scramble is lush.
Called in here to grab a coffee and was appalled to hear the staff basically chase a family of 6 out. The staff came over to tell the children to give up their seats as I 've got paying customers waiting when challenged that they had eaten meals too and were just ordering ice cream the reply was well they don 't need to sit to eat that Not surprisingly they left as dud we soon after. They need learn what customer service is.
Hmmmm what can I say. The prices range as does the quality if food. For some undercooked homemade quiche is around 3.50. Not bad, but the pastry is raw. Chips are also priced 3.50. Which considering there is a chippy over the road that's cheaper and a park kiosk also cheaper, it's a bit of an ask. The day we went the staff were really friendly. However, I am surprised as this is not the usual. They appear to be very judgemental, especially if you have kids and the kids are not perfectly behaved as in the victorian times. Only half the seating is available now and this is not ok if its raining. I think if you are an OAP they will love you. If you don't meet their ideal, they'll make it obvious. Such a shame as this is a real community hotspot. I suspect there is no need for the managers to be nice, they have a captive audience.
Decided to pay a visit as we err coming through to north of the Humber for a parkrun and heard we could get a good vegan breakfast from here. It was one of the best I’ve had and I was really impressed with the tofu scramble: Met another vegan runner (it’s a national club and only £6 unaffiliated membership for the year) who came with us for coffee and a muffin. Would definitely recommend. I heard their vegan afternoon teas and picnics are good too.
Well, I used to love this place. The food was some of the best I had had and service was great. But today, despite just having spent nearly £20 they refused to give me a glass of water with my meal. I won't be back.
