Sambal Express - Kingston upon Thames

On my first visit to this restaurant, I tried the Mutton rolls, Fish cutlets, Seeni sambal, Coconut sambal, and wattilapung. Everything was just perfect. We traveled from Horsham in West Sussex and noticed a long line of Sri Lankans outside the shop, indicating its popularity for Ceylonese food. As an old school individual, I was delighted by the familiar smells that took me back to my childhood in 1960s Ceylon. It was like being in heaven. This restaurant has now become a firm favorite on my shopping list. My English wife also enjoyed the variety of dishes on display and the friendly staff. Thank you for a wonderful experience.

I had a disappointing experience during my first visit in 2020, but recently I have had some delicious takeout and snacks from this restaurant. There seems to be a variety of flavors in Sri Lankan cuisine, and some dishes match my taste preferences while others do not. It would be helpful if the restaurant could provide clearer indications of portion sizes when ordering a curry.

Sambal is an excellent choice for those craving Indian spicy food or snacks. In addition to their savory offerings, they also offer a variety of sweet drinks and snacks for a quick bite on the go.

After around about 10-12 weeks my favourite take away has now reopened. I have missed it so much along with lots and lots of other loyal customers. They have fitted extremely good screens to shield the staff and customers they are really effective and actually look great. The food and service as ever is great. So glad to have you back. The Jaffna style Kool (soup) I bought recently and found is watery and more bone than fish pieces.. There were 5 sharp fish bones one was a cM long Could have end up at AE! careless how they care about their customers
