The Souvlaki - Kingston upon Thames

Over priced, cheap produce, bad staff attitude towards a bit of criticism. Avoid at all costs! Don’t even waste your time!

Being Greek, I was brought up with souvlaki. I 'd say the pork cubes are above average, the gyros wrap is average, the plain gyros is below average (a little dull, should be more crispy). The chips are the frozen type. I do buy from there occasionally as the experience is definitely withn the Greek range . BUT it is a very strange restaturant if you want to take away food. Unless you order online for collection, you will probably not be served as the waiting time would have been excruciating, or you have to wait a very very long time. I never had to because I either left or I ordered online prior to going there. Basically it is a delivery factory. They take too many orders and have optimised production line for that purpose. It is not really a take away shop of the traditional type. Once I adapted to ordering online first, things started going fairly smoothly. Waiting times are 10-15 mins. I did not experience what some other customers describe: Missleading waiting times. If anything the lady there always advises people not to wait and when they insist how long they have to wait, she does say the truth (30-50 mins usually).

Ordered food qt 6:30 and still waiting for it to be made at 7:45…. Probably going to have to wait another hour before we eat Do not order this place for a takeaway as they take around 2-3 hours to deliver. Terrible customer service also Very rude

Popped in for dinner while the kids were in Pryzm and couldn’t believe what I discovered only the best Greek fast food I’ve found in the UK! Souvlaki just like I’ve had in Corfu, Crete and Zante over the years right in the centre of Kingston. Good value and staff were really friendly. I ordered a regular box which had a chicken skewer, halloumi, chips, pitta, salad and tzatziki, it was £10 and it was massive, really filling. Popped back again for drinks after Pryzm with the kids. Highly recommended, and reminded me of Nick the Greek in California. Much better than that Real Greek high street restaurant chain. Definitely coming back!

I'm Greek, I know what a good souvlaki looks and taste like. I also know hiw much a normal portion should be. We bought the large portion and surprisingly it had 2 souvlaki sticks in the boxx, the Large portion....the normal portion even in London area has 4 sticks. To pay £12.5 for the this low quality food and the reduced portion is simply unacceptable! That was the last time guys. Sorry!
