We were a party of 7. We had reservations for the Kingston location and were seated right away despite people waiting for tables. We waited a long time for our server to come to the table. For those with allergies or dietary restrictions this is not a super friendly place for that. Everyone’s food was great. Presentation of the meals was nice. The issue was with the service. Appetizers were brought out with or after the meals were brought out. One appetizer never arrived. Everyone’s meals were brought out at different times. One person had her meal for about 15 mins before others meals were brought out One person ordered a salad with several toppings removed due to dietary restrictions and the first one was brought out with nuts in it (not listed on the menu for salad ordered). Second one had craisens on it (again not an ingredient listed in the menu for salad ordered). Third attempt was missing the cucumbers. Remainder of the party was either close to or done eating their meals at this point. When it came time to get the check it took 20 mins to get it sorted out. They charged money onto the wrong card for one meal and 20% gratuity was added in bc of the large size of the group. At the end one of the managers tried to make it right by comping the appetizers and the salad that arrived very late and by refunding the person who never received their appetizer but were still charged for itDietary restrictions: Not friendly for those with dietary restrictions.
Food and service was great. Food arrived hot and as ordered. Megan was our server and took good care of our friends and family from out of town.
I recently visited The Laughing Owl Restaurant for a quick bite with high hopes of enjoying a delicious meal based on the positive reviews I had heard. Unfortunately, my experience left me feeling disappointed and frustrated. One of the main reasons for my disappointment was the evident lack of professionalism displayed by the waitstaff. The restaurant's website and door clearly stated that they closed at 2:30, so I arrived at 2:15 with plenty of time to spare. However, as I was getting out of my car, I witnessed one of the waitstaff members walk up to the door and abruptly flip the sign to closed, without any explanation. To make matters worse, this action occurred within mere steps of me, leaving me feeling bewildered and frustrated. It was disheartening to see such disregard for the stated closing time and the potential loss of business for the restaurant. I believe it is essential for the owner to be aware of this incident and address it promptly to ensure it does not happen to other customers.Aside from this disappointing encounter, I can not provide an objective review of the food and service since I was unable to dine there. However, based on this incident, I would caution potential customers to verify the restaurant's operating hours or call ahead to confirm their availability. On a positive note, stopped in Cove City at Lucy's Boyz had a warm welcome when we walked through the door and those ladies know their was around country cooking! Gave them 5/5.
I got the feeling I was rushed but we did come in an hour before closing. Food was amazing and the portion size was big enough. They also had plenty of gluten free options.Dietary restrictions: Amazing gluten free selection. Even fried rice!
