Cavallaro - Kirkland

This charming spot is perfect for enjoying all your favorite Italian goodies! Their traditional pizzas are definitely a highlight, and I highly recommend trying the Focaccia. If you can, it's a good idea to call ahead to place your order, as it tends to sell out quickly!

I always have a fantastic experience at Cavallaro. The staff is excellent, the place is clean, and the shelves are always well-stocked. For those with dietary restrictions, it would be great to have a pizza option with lactose-free cheese.

The staff at the restaurant are friendly, but the quality of the food leaves much to be desired. The beef salami changed from gray to blue within a day, and the Bresaola was tough and appeared to be improperly stored. The Karnatzels were decent, though they were oilier and fattier than what I'm accustomed to. Unfortunately, I had to throw away $60 worth of Bresaola and beef salami after just two days.

I visited this place to try their traditional Italian pizza and pasta sauce to take back with me to Vancouver. It was absolutely delicious!

This is honestly the worst tomato pizza my family and I have ever encountered. I was so embarrassed to bring it to our family gathering. The pizza was incredibly soggy – practically a wet piece of dough. There was so much tomato sauce on it that we could have boiled pasta and just used the sauce from the pizza to dress it. It was impossible to hold the pizza with one hand; it was so soft and soggy that we had to use both hands to manage it, yet it still fell apart and created a mess. It's really shameful to even call it a pizza. If I could, I would give it zero stars because it doesn't deserve a single one. If you're looking for good Italian food, just head a few blocks south on St-Charles to DelMonaco, or drive a bit further west to La Trattoria in Kirkland – you'll find much better pizza and Italian offerings there.
