Obediah Brooke Cleckheaton Jd Wetherspoon

Had a nice lunch and drinking with friends. obviously chain restaurants never expect much, but eating was nice and service was fast. friendly bar staff! can not complain

The obediah brooke is handy for the center of cleckheaton and buses keep out immediately. there is a covered outside area on the front side as well as various sitting areas inside (warned, it's a bit of a wrestling). the service is fast with the...app and there are good cracks between the staff and the customers. While most spoons can feel impersonal, this feels more like a community pub than most. prices are as low as they would expect. I'll be back in clecky.

Not erased. ordered sampi and chips. scampi overcooked. no tartaric acid sauce, no vinegar, no salt. When I asked about it, I was told that they had expired yesterday and that a new order was not due until tomorrow. no excuse. glass for beer had lipstick mark on it. - I was in the bar. No apologies again, although I got a clean replacement! very poor.

On Saturday to lunch. I tried to put our order on the wetherspoons app, but I had problems. a very friendly member staff came by and offered to order it on his pad that took him seconds. our eating and drinks came... really fast and were the usual Wetherspoons standard.

I just went to the Obidiah Brooke in Cleckheaton and as I checked in was told the app was not working. No problem as I knew exactly what I wanted. I sat at the last available table and waited to be served. Whilst waiting people...came went, got served and paid their bills. I couldn’t even get a waiter/waitress to look in my direction. They look straight down as they approach their table then turn straight around and right back into the building. After minutes I’m starting to get very upset and decide to call and ask for a manager to come out to my table so I can tell them what is happening. Phone rang times and nobody answered. I wait more minutes with no results. I get up and go and wait by the door to the building until I see the gentleman who signed me in approach. I ask him if he is the manager and the lady walking behind him informs me she is the manager. As I begin to tell her my problem she cuts me off and says she has to take another customer’s order. Luckily the first gentleman jumps in and listens to my complaint, apologies for the mix up, offers me a complimentary drink (which I turned down) and does a good job at keeping the situation calm. I could of strangled the duty manager for not only blowing me off but performing the task I was there to complain about. Truly adding insult to injury. The staff (with one exception) performed miserably today. If the app is not working just walk on by as the staff at this Wetherspoons are failures.
