The locals chuckled when I ordered a Thatcher's Gold at the night club. Not a welcoming place to request a different drink.
Comprehensive menu including fish and chips and steaks washed down with great beers or wines You could combine trip with standedge visitor centre
This pub is situated right next to Marsden Station. It's OK, but rather lacking in character. You can sit outside. Probably best avoided on Saturday afternoons.
We stopped at this restaurant as our first destination on the Ale train. The prices were reasonable and the staff was friendly and accommodating. I ordered the buttermilk chicken strips, which came with a side of fries. They also had beef joint baguettes, both hot and cold, available. The pub has a wonderful outdoor seating area with plenty of seating to enjoy the sun. Alternatively, you can sit on the walls and overlook the canals.
