Then we had a problem with one of the meals and I'm guessing it was the manager who came out and said that this was how it was served, when asked if we could have a full steak they said no as they only serve it in slices, now I have never been anywhere that serves a steak in slices but when asked if we could have a full steak to be refused this is really baffling! Honestly what difference does it make to serve a full steak rather than have it cut up?. Then for 3 meals it cost nearly £70 it's unbelievable no wonder there was noone in there on a Saturday night.
We have been a few times since the pub changed hands. Food is excellent, freshly cooked and comes with good quality vegetables...as it is fresh, expect a little wait. Pudding choice is great too. Plus at the moment mulled wine is on offer...I didn't try it but may call back in just for a drink.
Excellent food Excellent service a very enjoyable evening with family. I tried the very unusual starter, haggis and onion bhaji, absolutely delicious. Followed by the homemade steak pie, again delicious. Could not fault the service or the food. Would definitely call again next time we are in the area.
First I will start off by saying the staff member we were speaking with was great. So polite friendly and great with recommendations. The food was amazing as I’m originally from Australia it was great to tuck into a meat pie!! And it was delicious! We sat outside and watched the sunset over the hills while we ate and it was just beautiful. Would highly recommend this place to anyone visiting the area
Had dinner here for the second time since the new people took over and i have to say you will not get a better meal or service anywhere, if you haven't tried it then put it In your Diary, you won't be disappointed.
