Golden Fish & Chips - Kitchener

This is my first time ordering from this place and I would NEVER go back!! I got a 2pc pollock and chips with a side of gravy and an order of battered mushrooms. The fish was so greasy, fries were cold and I forgot to order the gravy when I made the call so I asked when I got there, my order went from 25.49 to 28.66 so the small gravy I got was a little over $3!!! Not worth the money that's for sure.

We always have haddock and chips from here, and then lately we have been bringing it home. The last two times the fish doesn't taste very good, and I suspect that it just doesn't travel well. I recommend that you eat in the restaurant because we have years of enjoying their fish in the restaurant. The french fries are cut in house and taste delicious much better than the frozen french fries you always get everywhere else. They also make a very fresh and delicious cole slaw I recommend to everyone. My son loves their gravy on the fries (I haven't tried it yet).

For $12 you get 2 large pcs of fish and cooked to perfection and fast service.. we will go back sometime

The fish and chips and the coleslaw side were very good. We were also very impressed with the efforts put forth by the staff to protect their customers and staff from getting the virus. We have been ordering take-out once a week since the pandemic began, and this restaurant stood out as the best one in this regard. Their menu is extensive; we plan to return regularly to try other items.

We didn't feel like cooking supper and decided to stop in here for supper. The restaurant was nice and clean, washrooms were very clean. After we sat down, the waiter came with menus and asked what we would like for drinks. We had looked at the daily specials posted by the main door but decided to go with the menu choices. We both decided on the haddock fisherman's platter which included two very generous portions of haddock, scallops and shrimps along with fresh cut fries. The presentation on the plates with the lemon, tarter sauce and coleslaw as just perfect. The meals came out in a very short time and I must say, piping hot.Too full for desert and they have an excellent desert menu. Total cost for the two dinners and coffees and taxes was only $57.18. Well worth it, will be back again for sure.
