South St. Burger - Kitchener

A restaurant with a great atmosphere and service. Excellent options to build your burger and delicious fries. Price is fair for the quality.

While it may not be a super gourmet burger restaurant, you might mistake it for one with their customizable toppings. The burgers are decent, topping selection is above average, and you can't go wrong with New York Fries. I was hoping for a place more similar to "The Works," so I was slightly disappointed in that aspect, but not entirely. Would I come back? Probably not on purpose, but if I found myself at the Sunrise Center and craving food, I might give it another try.

Tried their "True North Burger," which comes with cheddar, bacon, maple infused onions and signature sauce. Of the 4 or 6 oz burgers, I chose the former today on a whole wheat bun and it was all beef, not tender (not tough either), very tasty. I added tomatoes and lettuce and found it tasted quite good. The fries are NYC fries, so very distinct in flavour. Definitely an okay burger joint. Very fresh new, clean atmosphere.

Delicious made to order hamburgers. I had the 4 Oz great northern burger combo. They allow you to swap items (ie the type of cheese).Restaurant was very clean. The chairs/high table are an odd height. It was difficult to navigate the order line and seating area with a stroller. Not enough room between chairs when people are seated. If you are in a wheelchair it may be difficult to manoeuvre.

This is a burger joint, and the New York Fries are a supplement to that fact. The fries are done expertly. My burger of choice today was a 4oz Nacho Burger, minus the guacamole. It had a salsa, jalapeno sour cream, lettuce, onions, and tomatoes on it. It had "no" bite! I asked for jalapeno's, but was offered hot peppers which I declined. If it wasn't for the Cajun Spice used for the fries, this burger would have been very bland! Under the poutine banner, the regular and vegetarian are the only ones made.The staff is very friendly, and helpful in explaining the menus. Full capacity for this restaurant would be 48 patrons. The washrooms are small, two toilets, one in each of the two rooms (non-gender specific). God help them if there is a rush!
