My calamari was served almost burned from over frying and the extra tiny rings were tough as a result, plus hardly anything on the small plate. The halibut fish taco content was flavorful but the soft uncooked cornmeal casing over-powered it so much that I...was forced to eat the contents with a fork. In contrast, my wife's steak was a perfectly charred medium rare and her plate only loses points because of the pre-frozen, pre-made fries they served her. Really? How can you call this fine dining if the chef can't even be bothered to serve real fries cut in house real potatoes? The menu appears to have changed and pretty much caters to red meat eaters. They used to serve good food and need to change before I will go back for anything more than a beer. Speaking of eat, drink and be merry, the table sign clearly stated no singing allowed. WTF?
Kitimat is definitely limited in its options for dining out so when we were told the menu had changed and they had a new chef we decided to check it out. The menu had lots of options (especially if you’re after something quick and easy...like a sandwich or burger) and we particularly liked the appies! The food arrived hot and was all delicious. Will definitely eat here again. I recommend the potato skins, spin dip and yam fries.
Eating out and receiving good service, as well as good food, can be a challenge in Kitimat. After being in the area for months and mainly dining at home, I was pleasantly surprised when my boyfriend, who is a Kitimat native, took me on a date night to the golf course. The experience was a welcomed change from our usual meals at Mr. Mikes. The food was delicious and the service exceeded any expectations I had in Kitimat. The restaurant was clean, well-lit, and had a friendly atmosphere, not to mention a lovely patio where we could enjoy the sunny weather. This was a refreshing change from the typical presence of rowdy individuals hanging around, tarnishing the overall ambiance. I will definitely be returning to this establishment as it provides a dining experience with a higher standard of clientele. A great find in Kitimat!
My parents and I visited this restaurant together. We were pleased to find that it is accessible for people with mobility challenges, which was important for us. Our server, Jenny, was outstanding. She was very attentive and friendly, greeting us upon arrival and providing excellent customer service throughout our meal. We were happy to have her serving us. The food was also excellent. We enjoyed the steak sandwich, which was prepared perfectly to my dad's liking, as well as the Chicken Quesadilla and Beef Dip. The prices were very reasonable. The restaurant offers nice views of the golf course and overall, it has the best atmosphere and food in Kitimat.
