New England Fishmongers - KITTERY

I absolutely loved the fried haddock sandwich, which comes with hand-cut fries. It was delicious—not too greasy and not too dry. I definitely plan to go back! I was also very impressed to see that one of the waitresses brought her baby to work. What a sweet little one! It's wonderful to see that this is a family business, and that makes me want to visit even more!

My partner is from England, and he's had his fair share of fish and chips. But he was absolutely thrilled with the meal here! These are definitely the best fish and chips he's had in Britain! He's also gluten-sensitive, and the chickpea-based batter was outstanding—super tasty and didn't upset his stomach, which is a significant plus. We're planning to become regulars, visiting every week or two. The service and management were excellent as well. You should definitely check this place out; you won't be disappointed!

My daughter ordered the fish and fries, which were served on a large, thick roll with thin batter. I tried the clam roll, which came in a regular hot dog bun and was topped with tartar sauce. The clams were small and nicely fried, but there weren't enough to fill the roll. The service was quick after we placed our orders.

Very impressed by the fresh seafood they serve, as well as the sweet ambiente and the friendly, knowledgeable staff. I am one of the old mainers, which is very picky about lobster rolls, and new england fishmongers has it right: fresh lobster meat (before never frozen) lightly dressed with just a little celery leaf garnish. and the brioche is a good step up from the usual. yum! also had the best white fish salat we ever tasted! beautiful that we found this place!

Sitting on the patio in the sun is much looked forward to in the cold days of winter. When great seafood, perfectly cooked is added to that, it gets even more perfect. Fishmongers was a lovely surprise: the grilled shrimp tacos were fresh and tasty. The fried fish version of the tacos was also a winner. Fishmongers could be the #1 spot for seafood in Kittery; staff is friendly, attentive and the staff knows how to cook and not overcook fish
