However, once we were there, it did not look that repulsive. There was even an outside seating underneath a chestnut tree.Having recently been thoroughly refurbished, the dining rooms were in perfect condition. They did not excel by their styling, but the one where we were seated had a quite pleasant rustic look. More remarkable than that was the exceptionally friendly and welcoming waitstaff. The permanent menu offered sufficient choice of meat, fish and vegetarian dishes. It was complemented by three dishes of the day written on chalkboards mounted at the façade.Although the restaurant was almost full on this Sunday at lunch, the waiting time for our dishes was perfectly reasonable. The main courses were not special in any respect but nicely presented and tasted fine, whereas desserts and coffees were particularly savory. In view of the moderate prices and the normally sized portions, “Gasthaus Possarnig” provided good value for money.
