They claimed they had tried to contact all the booked guests, but none of us received a call or message, nor was there any record of them attempting to reach us. They did allow us to cancel our reservation for a full refund, which we appreciated. However, my review also addresses the poor condition of both the outdoor facilities and the overall cleanliness of the area, which were well below standard. The reality did not match what had been advertised, and we were very disappointed. Additionally, there was a strange, unpleasant odor upon entering, contributing to the overall feeling of uncleanliness. It was a sad and disappointing experience.
A random find that was pure gold!! We switched off Highway 101 to see the Klamath River Overlook and discovered this picturesque inn, advertising breakfast, just when we were hungry. Open to the public, we found a gracious dining room, (white bedding napkins! overlooking the river, with free coffee (fresh heavy sweet cream in the refrigerator! while we went through an inexpensive menu, simple, but everything was tempting! We shared the potatoes, eggs with ham and cheese and two delicious, still warm cinnamon rolls all of them exceptionally delicious! It turns out that all food comes from a farm only on the street, and we learned this from our personal waiter who turned out to be Farmer Kenny himself! I guess that tastes when it doesn't travel far, comes from happy chickens and cows and is expertly prepared. I hope to return one day, stay as a guest, and experience their price menus set in the evening!
The staff were phenomenal and went above and beyond my expectations, particularly Wendi and Kenny. Wendi had a wealth of knowledge about local attractions and conveyed it in such a friendly manner. Kenny was equally impressive and ensured that we were well-fed throughout our stay. He and his partner operate a farm in Requa and opened this restaurant in May 2022. You won't find fresher or tastier food anywhere else! My friend and I stayed at the inn for four nights and enjoyed breakfast at the restaurant every morning. The freshness of the ingredients and the genuine care that Kenny and his kitchen team put into every meal made for a fantastic start to each day. We also made reservations for dinner on Sunday; it’s required to sign up at least 24 hours in advance. While some may find this inconvenient, I see it as a smart and sustainable business model, especially because it minimizes waste. And let me tell you, that dinner was the best meal I've ever had! I indulged in quite a bit, but it was truly something special. Not only was everything unbelievably delicious, but the technical skill of the chef shone through as well. The value for such a meal was incredible—I felt like I got away with something extraordinary! I can't recommend this experience highly enough, and for you locals, they're extending their operating hours to offer dinner on more days! Definitely give it a try and enjoy!
We noticed many thoughtful details that showed how much the owners and staff care for the property. The food was outstanding; we enjoyed both breakfast and dinner there every day, and the multi-course meals were simply fantastic. Just a note: dinner reservations are required, but it’s definitely worth it. There's also a nearby farm at the top of the hill that provides fresh meals, and the quality of everything was exceptional. Although we didn't spend much time in the cozy common area on the ground floor since we wanted to explore nature as much as possible, it looked beautiful and quiet. I highly recommend staying here and look forward to returning in the future.
The Historic Requa Inn was a delightful retreat from our busy life in Northern Oregon. The spectacular view of the wide and rolling Klamath River soothes the soul. The best place for viewing that river is from beautiful dining room decorated with William Morris style wall paper and an antique stove. The warm, wide windows offer a view where one might be fortunate enough to catch sight of a bear. The wild nature outside the windows is happily de-stressing. Everything about this inn is relaxing and lovely. We stayed in a handicap-accessible room that was apparently remodeled recently with a truly comfy king bed, a huge shower with beautiful tile and stone work, and many small touches of Native American artwork. The room features a small eating area and a sitting porch with two chairs, where one can relax in the morning and evening after spending the day at Prairie Creek enjoying the redwoods, or at nearby ocean beaches. I have only one suggestion. Though handicapped, I was able to use the four outdoor steps needed to get to our room. It would be good if those steps were mentioned in the room description for any handicapped guest so they know what to expect. We are eager to return for a longer stay at the beautiful Requa Inn. I plan to use at least one day sitting in the welcoming lobby and reading one of the offered books from the Inn's small, but intriguing library. Maybe an Autumn or Winter day would serve us well. We thank everyone associated with the Inn for your kind hospitality on our recent mid July trip.
