Went here with friends on my birthday while on vacation.Though the ambiance was really nice, the food didn't stand out and the "deep fried chicken made famous by Rick Steeves" was a disappointment.Wine was quite good. Service was okay. Of our group of 4, 2 ordered the chicken. One has schnitzel and I had the chicken paprika dish. My dish was okay, but not great.
It wasn't just the weather that was perfect at this Heuriger-the food, wine, service and atmosphere were all top notch during our visit on a peaceful Sunday afternoon. The backhandel (fried chicken) and Gemischter teller (mixed plate) with bread was plentiful and tasty. We will return. Thank you!
I love Zimmermann's, my friend lives next door to them so it's our girls night out go to place any time of year. You can have a glass of wine or bottles, a full meal or a snack. The room is warm and inviting, the service aloof and efficient , austrians don't do friendly! My favourite wine is the Zweigelt or the St Laurent with locally produced
The "Wirtshaus" Zimmermann, as it is called now is still the best place to spend a nice evening and enjoy the sunset. The staff is extremely friendly, which can't be found anywhere else in the area, the food is excellent with a changing specialty menu every week where you can taste the fresh ingredients and where you can feel, that the chef loves his job.Beside the excellent food, wines and soft drinks, the ambiance of the restaurant, it does mot matter if you sit inside or outside, is just terrific and you are always happy to come back. Beside that the patron is also very friendly and greets all guests with a smile.I can only recommend this place and I have seen lots of restaurants in my live, but this one is definitely one of the best.
