Tucked away in the back corner of Bergtor village in Ferntree Gully, you might not even notice it due to the lack of signage on the windows. They specialize in coffee and check off all the boxes - a rarity nowadays. The place is clean, including the bathroom, and they have a creative menu with fast and friendly service. It's perfect for lunch, light meals, and coffee cake. Even if you don't visit Ferntree Gully often, it's worth the trip. We will definitely be returning more frequently. It's a pleasure to visit, even if it's not just any ordinary "corner" for us.
We had morning tea at 10:00 at a café that was a little busy but had plenty of seating available. After checking out the cake display case, we noticed that many items seemed a bit overpriced and on the smaller side. We decided to order Fruit Toast and Coffee. The Fruit Toast was generously topped with Nutella and was not too thin like the bread at Café Rosin – it was delicious. The service was good and we had no complaints. The total cost for the toast and coffee came out to be $12.35, which was nearly double the price compared to some other cafes in the area.
Yesterday I went to a restaurant for lunch (Tue 29/03/22). When I sat down, I was informed that a bottle of water would be brought to our table, but it never came. After placing our order with a waitress who seemed disinterested, our meals arrived at the table 40 minutes later. We finished eating and waited to be asked if we wanted anything else, but were ignored for 20 minutes. The staff were not wearing masks, which is required by law. I will not be returning to this restaurant. I believe that guests should be treated with courtesy when dining out for lunch, not as an inconvenience. It's not too much to ask for, in my opinion.
Coffee is amazing, food is very good. but unfortunately there is no mask enforcement and no employees wore masks that bring an unpleasant experience and environment.
I am now in bed with stomach cramps, headache, nausea and a rash because their ‘gluten free’ avocado smash has Vegemite in it that isn’t gluten free. I received a half hearted apology from the waitress and that was all. Perhaps she doesn’t realise that...now I am going to be sick for a whole week. The GF bread is that awful white mushy cheap bread. The meal tasted strange with Vegemite on it so I’m not sure why it was there. Don’t go there if you have allergies!
