Indian & Nepalese Restaurant Mountain Gate

The staff were really hospitable and the service was fast. Food was exceptionally tasty. I look forward to returning to try more things. Especially loved the eggplant potato dish and vegan momos. Great!

I've eaten in and ordered takeaway from this restaurant so many times over the last year, and every time the food has been consistently delicious and freshly-cooked. The food is reasonably priced and the portion sizes are good. There are a large number of vegan curries available on their menu (all labelled) and all their rice dishes, as well as wholemeal roti, can be made vegan too. The owner/chef is always very friendly and I've yet to have a bad experience with this restaurant. I would give it five stars, but unfortunately Happy Cow only allows you to give fully vegetarian/vegan restaurants a whole five stars.

I had a wonderful time at this restaurant recently. The food was both delicious and fresh, and the staff were extremely accommodating, attentive, and friendly. I will definitely be coming back.

Absolute terrific food and friendly staff, the Chicken Momo's and lamb chops Rum Masala are a must!!<br/ However the chilli pork is gob smacking delicious!!Will be back here again. (p.s Didn't realise it went under new management until I saw the new painting).<br/

I first tried this place a few months ago. I was blown away! I like my curries hot, so, as always, asked for it very hot. Well, it was!! The waiter did raise his eyebrow when I asked for it very hot, but then realised that I was English, so started the conversation about how English people love their curries really hot, more so than Australians. I don't know if this is true..Anyway, I now go there once a week and it is brilliant! Friendly staff, fast service and great food.The only bad thing I'd say is that they've put their prices up recently and it's getting a little bit expensive.. as in $2.50 more for the same dish which is as good from an Indian in Upper Ferntree Gully.But, it is still my favourite. Highly recommended.
