Shono's Japanese Grill - Knoxville

I regret ordering the chicken teriyaki bowl at this restaurant. The chicken lacked flavor and the rice was undercooked. The total cost was $7.59, but I would have been willing to pay more elsewhere for better quality food.

If you want good quality chicken with excellent fried rice and the BEST shrimp sauce, then this is the place! Staff is always so friendly and it is awesome delivered, too! I love the dumplings and ginger dressing salad. Huge amount of food for the price.

Unfortunately, this restaurant is still only offering takeout due to COVID-19 restrictions. The food quality has declined and it's not as flavorful as it used to be. I won't be returning and will miss their special dish. It might be best for them to just close temporarily if they're struggling.

This is the food they serve in Heaven! Since I always get the same thing, I can't address the other dishes personally, but Eddie's Special has been way way beyond special every time I've had it--and I've had it a *lot*. Friends who have had otherthings rave about those too. I hadn't been able to eat there for almost two months (surgery) and when I went in and that foodwas set down in front of me, I actually cried a little with joy--it's that good. If there are leftovers, they're just asdelicious reheated, and you can't say that about most dishes from anywhere. Service is fast, the folks are friendly, prices aregreat. The only thing wrong with them is that they're not within walking distance. My favorite restaurant anywhere!

Unfortunately, I have to admit that my experience at this restaurant was not good. The food was bland and unimpressive. The chicken was dry and chewy, and the mustard shrimp sauce was terrible. I was surprised to find shredded cabbage in my hibachi chicken dish, and the Chicken Teriyaki lacked any teriyaki flavor. The only highlight was the ginger dressing for the salad. Despite the reasonable prices and large portions, I don't plan on returning to this restaurant.
