The Canteen - Ko Pha-Ngan

We love this place very much. The food is made with fresh ingredients and love. We came here twice a week for the last few months and were never boring, even if the menu is not the biggest. You want recommendations? Okay, Green Curry Fried Noodles. A Canteen Special. Never seen the court elsewhere and it's delicious. I just ordered it when writing those lines. Pad Kra Pao Tofu. Spicy, tangy, yummy. The Thai basil. Get rice and add a roasted egg! So good. One of the best on the island. Made with fresh tamarind. English Veggie Breakfast. Fried mushrooms and onions. Beans, eggs, ash brown. And a black coffee. This place is a jewel. And my noodles just arrived!

Delicious veggie breaky, with a tasty iced coffee. We tasted some complementary in season fruit too which was nice. Great service with a smile, and similar price to most cafes in the area.

This place is amazing! My bf and I ate here twice and the English breakfast and paninis are dying. Service is fast and efficient the lady who runs it so beautiful! Please eat here. they close early at 16:30

Caution! Large portions! I ordered the English breakfast for me and the mixed fruit pancake for the lady. The English came out first, so we were sharing it. It was an enormous amount of food. I'm still wary of beans on breakfast (British are a friendly, but weird lot), but at them anyway. The bacon and sausage were great, as were the eggs, sliced mushrooms, and toast. The pancake was more like a heavy crepe, but good. Though I would have preferred some type of maple-flavored syrup to the chocolate syrup, I won't complain. There was a generous amount of mixed tropical fruit atop the pancrepe. We didn't finish every bite as we were pretty stuffed. You've been warned. Come hungry.
