I had Indian food regurarely in last 20 years, this was clearly a dissapointment on the low end of the scale. The hipe of the food upon arrival with speicific information about not taking our order for another 20 minutes to avoid dissapointment was a total paradox.
Food was delicious. Portions were generous. Limited choice on menu but all dishes were fabulous. Presentation of food was outstanding. Really recommend the finger food for 2 starter selection. For a family of 4 it was expensive but lovely for a treat.
Extremely expensive for very ordinary food. Surly waitress. Added a significant charge for tap water without warning us and wouldn't delete the charge when questioned.
The chicken tikka was good, The tamarind chutney and the Raita should have been included in the price. The nan bread was not freshly made, and tasted like fabric made nan bread for households, and not like the freshly made nan bread in India and other places. My conclusion that this was not a value for the money meal, because you expect more quality for that kind of money.
If you are looking for a curry then try Bollyfood. It’s very small and in the cool and lively meatpacking district. Menu is small but that’s fine. Atmosphere is great, really lively on a Sat night. Food was ok, not brilliant, a little oily. Drinks were good, value ok overall.
