Backerei Brockmann - Köln

I am staying near Brockmann for a month and have visited several times. On my first day in Cologne I bought a Mohnschneke, a sugary horn/twist pastry stuffed with poppy seed goo. I've had another one since. They are a traditional item in Germany. Next I went for bread, a potato bread with carrot bits (kartoffelbrot) that was soft and flavorful. I enjoyed it with different meat and cheese for a few days. Last time I chose a whole grain sunflower seed loaf for meat and cheese also. The sunflower seed loaf was dense and heavy, which is more the German way. No disappointments with anything I have bought from Brockmann. Good work!

Bakeries are so much disapointing in Germany, all that industrial shxx... What do u german have to destroy your own agriculture and food culture? When you see all these bakeries called backwerk, you wanna.... I don't say the word! In this bakery, u find nice real food made by human beeings and it tastes like beeing on earth! Please go for it!

I recommend this place of good heart for all lovers of Greek cuisine. I don't know if it tastes the same in Greece. But I like to come back. In the area I tried all the other Greek restaurants, but nothing is comparable. Nothing. Only the kindness of some employees can be desired. But food is compensated for in taste, variety and quantity.
