Not only were the two ladies working there reluctant to serve me when I placed my order in German, and afterwards they said they didn't speak English (so I ended up making signs in order to explain what I wanted to have), but one...of them literally shouted at me when I asked her whether it was possible to warm up my sandwhich. She said I should've asked for that when I ordered it in the first place. It happened at the Oebels café near the bus station in Aachen.

It could be the carnival which ended the day before our visit but we did not enjoy it. The floor was not clean and looked as if rubble had spilled from the street onto the floors. The whole thing spoke of a simple...lack of care. The service varied from individual to individual from indifferent to unfriendly. No excuses for. We visited lots of bakeries and backstubes in Germany throughout the years, and this was the most disappointing. On top of that, the food was not what I expect either. The toilets were clean though.

The big breakfast for € offers a lot of value for a small price. Including a hot drink, fresh orange juice, fresh eggs, two rolls, a croissant various selections of meat, cheese and sweet toppings. Exactly the right choice after a hangover night.

Un buon locale per fare colazione con varietà di dolce e salato. Accettabili anche caffè e cappuccini. Non aspettativi però un sorriso o una parola in inglese...
