Authentic Chinese and very friendly, freshly cooked and not the usual Asian snack stuff.
It is true that the restaurant looks rather inconspicuous from the outside. The food has convinced us completely. Especially the duck is highly recommended. Crispy, tender as we expect a good duck. In addition, the service was very friendly and childlike. Currently, of course, everything is somewhat limited, since only food can be ordered for a ride. But that also meets our expectations.
The visit here was like a nostalgic trip in earlier times when the China restaurant just came to Germany: The Hawan is very small and is only operated by father, mother and daughter. Unlike the big chains like Mongol Hann there is no buffet here; you eat à la carte. After years of the Büffet-Fraß I found this very pleasant: decide for a dish and stay with it, then you have more of it and not just eat before you! The food is very good and inexpensive. I had the 76, a sharp dish with chickens, cashews, black beans and vegetables, served with a lot of noise on a loudly grizzling iron plate. A great performance and super-lecker! The externalities: There is hardly any exotic decoration here with plastic buddhas and pseudo-China lobsters, not a stupid China-Muzak-acid, which goes on your nerves, so you can talk better when eating. The restaurant is a little old-fashioned, but that's what makes its charm. Maybe it could be a little renovated. Only minus point: The table stuck here and there was a little bit. Here would have been a fresh table cloth. Anything else.
The worst food I've ever eaten at a Chinese at not just cheap prices. The vegetables were unstable and definitely not freshly prepared. The whole food has tasted like piping and refreshed...
