The house has a long tradition: the start was here in 1982. It is also on the homepage: “The modernly furnished restaurant with bright tresses and wooden tables serves tapas, Mediterranean cuisine and steaks.” Carnival and football (FC are also great, can be read. My connoisseur had chosen it for us because he had heard good from the restaurant. I found the map on the internet rather not so great at a glance. But why not taste first and then judge. Ambiente We went from Chlodwigplatz to Merowingerstraße. Almost every house has an operation on the ground floor. After a few steps we were also at the inn. On the outside, the current daily map was written on a table. Surely in summer around the entrance are also placed on the street tables. Inside we found a pub. At the entrance were some places and the counter. A few steps up were more tables and chairs. That's all pretty good. Cleanliness Everything worked well maintained. Sanitary facilities were unfortunately in the basement. So you had to climb the steps. Here it looked neat, but also something came in the years. Service The man at the counter was quite friendly and gave us free table choice. Then a waitress came, who liked to explain the dishes. Unfortunately, there were only daily meals (almost seven offers). The tapas are only available after 4:00 and the card is intended for the evening. From these suggestions we liked the quiche (corn with goat cheese, spinach and salad €7.50 actually. Maybe, depending on the size of the portion, we could try more dishes later. The plate came very fast. Optically, the court looked neat. There was also bread. But the salad leaves were quite abundant at the second glance. He was fresh, but little marinated. A little carrot, a slice of gurke and a slice of tomato were also included. Now we looked at the two pieces “Quiche”: the bottom was a floor, the filling compound and spinach and the overcrowded upper layer. During the test, the dough hardly tasted after a baked grape with a crusty edge, but around something soft. It became long and longer during chewing and didn't want to slip right at all. The filling was certainly made with a lot of egg and cheese, but also had a soft consistency of an unfortunate thick pancake. There were hardly any aromas of goat cheese to notice. But the spinach had been well processed and as an upper layer the best of the cake. The final crust had a neat yellow brown color, but was also completely soft and wabbelig. It was an effort to eat. Actually we were already “satt” after the first torrent; but if it doesn’t taste “circular”, I eat my plate empty. Our spontaneous plan: no more food here – elsewhere; but we were not hungry anymore. New plan: to eat some of the bread, to drink a few crumbs and then to a “nette” cafe for coffee and cake. In the evening maybe a little bite for the new appetite. And so did we. Drinks There was Reissdorf Kölsch (1.70 € per 0.2 l . It was well cooled and freshly tapped. And so the highlight of it at noon. Not that Reissdorf was our favorite beer, but it was refreshing and rinsed the taste and cumin away from the food. Conclusion 2 – hardly again when it comes to the lunch table; like a beer (if you're in the area – maybe some tapas (if it's after 4 p.m., but otherwise not. There were many guests there and they even seemed to be regular guests. Nice for the host (a really friendly man – but we will surely go to the neighboring Alsace Street in the evening; for here are at least a pretty good Greek (but only in the evening and a well-known brewhouse (also at midday too . Wasn't here forever, though I live in this neighborhood. Nicely surprised. You can sit outside with radiators. We ordered Greek tapas and drank red wine or cocktail. Everything very tasty, smooth, friendly service. Unfortunately, after we had ordered two dishes, there was a star trigger. Replacement could be recommended.
