The owner and his staff are very friendly. Music and decoration is quiet nice with good atmosphere. Service was good, plate presentation was adequate, but mostly i enjoyed my order. We all did actually.
Unfortunately, this restaurant is suffering what many other Peruvian restaurant: I'm sure they started with real Peruvian dishes and in time, because of the lack/price of original ingredients or because of not being attractive enough making just Peruvian, they have started 'manipulating' the typical dishes and introducing other international specialties. A pity. I had 'choros a la chalaca' as a starter: they didn't even have onions on them and there is no place in Peru where they don't put onions on them. Disappointing...Then I had the 'seco de cabrito', it should be slow cooked lamb in a cilantro sauce accompanied with white beans and rice. I got a lamb where it was difficult to taste the cilantro and they decided to mash red beans into the sauce itself. The dish was quite ok, but had not much to do with the real deal. My gf had the 'aji de gallina' and it was definitely closer to what it should be.We wanted to order the traditional drink "chicha morada" made out of purple corn. By the price (3.25€ for 0.25L) I thought it was the real deal but the waiter told me it was the artificial stuff made of powder (0.80€ for 2.5L bought in Germany). So we skipped it.If you want to go to a restaurant with somehow different food, then you should go. If you have already tasted the real Peruvian food or expect to try it for the first time, then you are in the wrong location. They don't have the probably two most emblematic dishes of Peruvian cuisine: Lomo saltado and ceviche, so...
We went there about 18:30 but they told us its reservation required, then we asked the possibilities for 20:00? They are kind of not that welcome but answered : possible! Well, after my lovely experience of Peru food in Miami I would really love to eat it again in Germany that's why I am here tonight !! We went back around 20:00 and finally the waiter said we can sit down , ( very strange service quality) the restaurant wasn't big and not even full, but after we ordered the meals and it takes 30 min until we have our appetizers !!!!??? We were really so starving and nearly loosing the patience ! The food isn't bad actually but it's rather half size of the meal as I ordered in Miami , the price aren't cheap either, approx 30€ per person with just one drink ! Service really tired and worn out ! Pity !
