LUX Restaurant - Köln

So i've been here several times and basically always find something new to eat. This place serves affordable dishes that will definitely fill you up! It's no fine dining but definitely something you would like to look up if you're up for some comfort food.. especially in this cold weather! Can recommend the main dishes as also the small starters Also big plus for any Wodka fans as they have several House Wodkas.

We enjoyed the food and atmosphere at the LUX. I really liked the Jagerschnitzel. Great location nearr the tram stop.

Came here with my colleagues and we had a great evening out. Food (try out the burgers and definitely order potato skins as a side) is decent. Beer comes fresh all the time even without ordering (hey, we're in Cologne, right Prices are as Ok...as they can be...

I had dinner here with a few business associates while in town. The place was very crowded, (Russia had played a hockey game that night in town) it took a while to be seated and served, but once the ball got rolling they were very...quick. I have no idea what we ate, my German friends ordered several different dishes and we all shared. Everything we had was fantastic. The KGB bar is supposed to be very good and it's reported they have a killer (no pun intended) Vodka Mojito. I will have to try that next time! Don't forget to have your picture taken with the Flag or Vlad at the front desk

Eigentlich war ich immer sehr zufrieden mit dem Lux. Mit Freunden, Kollegen und Verwandten war es immer meine erste Anlaufstelle, da das Ambiente dort wirklich toll und das Essen immer super lecker war. Die Auswahl ist groß und jeder hat immer etwas gefunden, dass schmeckt. Nun ist es seit einem 1/2 bis 3/4 Jahr leider so, dass die Essensqualität dort stark nachgelassen hat. Ob hier ein neuer Koch dahintersteckt oder einfach anders gekocht wird, weiß ich nicht. Aber es schmeckt nicht mehr so frisch wie zuvor: Die Pommes sind total fettig geworden, die Bratwurst zäh, die Nudeln verkocht... da so etwas natürlich immer mal vorkommen kann, war ich danach noch zwei weiter Male dort. Leider war es nicht besser: Die Pommes waren wieder fettig und schmeckten dazu nach altem Fett, die Bürger lieblos zusammengebaut, Bratkartoffeln labberig... Ich finde es sehr schade, dass die Essensqualität (für mich so dramatisch) nachgelassen hat. Das Serviceteam ist immer noch super nett, das Kölsch gut, das Ambiente 1a. Ich werde im Herbst nochmal dort hingehen und hoffe, dass das Lux die Kurve bekommt. Die Konkurrenz ist sonst einfach auch zu nah und gut.
