Restaurant Canton - Köln

It can be tough being Chinese in Köln... Problem #1: Steamed rice withdrawls...Headaches, Loss of appetite, Insomnia, Paleness, Dilated pupils, Tremor of the hands...it's all meat and pommes frites in this town...chicken and potato, steak and potato, pork and potato, etc...with no Chinatown in sight, where the hell am I going to find some basic Chinesische food? Berlin? Problem #2: Familiar beer...Gaffel Kölsch, Sünner Kölsch, Reissdorf Kölsch, this town is kölsch, kölsch, kölsch...now please don't misunderstand me, a week or so in Köln drinking the local Köln beer is great, but after awhile, you get a little homesick and need something familiar like maybe a Tsingtao or something to get your bearings straight. Walking around the City Center you look at your options, Pizza, Steak, traditional German food, Mexikanische food,,,walk another block and there she is, the Canton Chinese Restaurant. Not a lot of English here, not a lot of German...functional knowledge of Chinese language is a plus, but you know what that means, this place is legit! Good Chinese food as well as great beer options...sure, there's some good local kölsch, but Canton also has some good 5% Tsingato... Withdrawl symptoms gone, my needs are fulfilled...now back to the kölsch!

Don't. Just don't. No reason to ever eat here. Just terrible service. I would tell you how the food is, but as I write this review we still have not received any of it. It's been over an hour. This restaurant is staffed by a single middle aged lady who is responsible for waiting on over 7 tables at one time. We had a party of 10, so the waitress insisted that we write our own orders down so she have to take all of our orders. The point of going to a sit down restaurant is to be waited on. 20 minutes to pour a beer. Mixed up orders all over. In the end we had fun, but only because we made it so.

Don't. Just don't. Trust me. 1 waitress. Terrible service. How long does it take to pour a beer? They should have just let me do it. It would have been way faster. When the other guy who does God knows what points at out Tae because even he knows we haven't even got our order in. It's bad. Real bad. Keep walking. Thank me later.

Great place , nice people and food is like you r in China. Personally I'm very satisfied with a place that located in the heart of Germany.
